Your Seasonal Grill Care Guide (What to Do & What to Leave to Us)

Barbecue season doesn’t last forever—your grill needs care at every stage.

Here's a quick guide to keeping it clean and functional, whether you’re just getting started or shutting it down for winter.

Spring Start-Up

  • Check for pests or cobwebs

  • Inspect ignition and gas lines

  • Scrub grates (not with a wire brush!)

  • Don’t light it without checking the grease tray

  • Book a full clean if you haven’t used it since last season

Mid-Summer Check

  • Empty the grease tray

  • Watch for flare-ups (a warning sign of buildup)

  • Give the burners and lid a look-over

  • Don’t ignore hot spots or uneven flame

Fall Shutdown

  • Burn off residual food (briefly)

  • Disconnect propane

  • Cover the grill properly

  • Don’t put it away dirty—mold and rust thrive in winter
